Product Description:
A collection of writings on the Black Woman’s creation of and ongoing contribution to world civilization. This work sets forth documented proof that the African Woman is the Mother of all living. She was also the first to develop agricultural science, to create an alphabet and mathematics, to devise scripts for writing and to establish educational and social systems. In essence, she was the spiritual impetus for all scientific investigation in the ancient world. The Black Woman was also the first builder of houses, constructor of cities, establisher of laws and governance and the creator of the marketplace. In fact, all the elements of civilization that humans hold dear initially emanated from her, that is why she was revered as an angel in antiquity.

Knowledge Staff Review:
In his seminal work, Afrikan Woman the Original Guardian Angel, Ishakamusa Barashango sets forth documented proof that the original Afrikan Woman is the mother of all living. Consequently all the elements that make up human civilization emanated from her, which is why she was revered as an angel in antiquity. The original concept behind the portrayal of Afrikan Women with wings that was prevalent in the ancient world was corrupted by Euro-Christian theology. The term angel was a symbol of the spiritual power of the feminine energy, which motivated and stimulated human intellect.
In this collection of essays Barashango uses historical evidence to trace the origin of angels but this is only the surface. The deeper premise for his work is providing the Black Race with a master key for “…reclaiming and regenerating its traditional greatness.” Ancient societies formed their belief system based on the necessities of life. The sun, water, earth, etc. all that sustained their existence was worshiped as parts of the whole or the Creator. They recognized the parallel between nature and women, through a women’s ability to create, nurture and sustain life. “The original Black Man believed that Motherhood was expressly linked to superior intelligence… All over the Earth life was measured by this fundamental symbolic equation: Woman=body=vessel=wisdom=the world.”
This book gives the highest praise to the Black Woman and corrects society’s chauvinistic perspective to the earliest matriarchal social systems practiced across the globe. Barashango hearkens readers back to a time when “… the most sacred and guarded values in their societies was the honor and exaltation of the Feminine Principle as manifested in their women.”
